 CARF is an independent non-profit organization that reviews and grants accreditation services nationally and internationally. Agencies must meet specific standards and requirements in order to be compliant. CARF Standards are revised every 3 years. We are trained and well versed in CARF accreditation and can provide technical assistance to agencies by training staff on the accreditation process, conducting mock site visits, and ensuring all organizational policies are aligned with the regulations set forth by CARF.

The use of the term CARF does not indicate endorsement/affiliation with Giant Steps Consulting. 

Many social work programs receive national accreditation each year. Programs are required to prepare self-studies addressing accreditation standards established by the Commission on Accreditation in order to maintain accredited status. We are experienced in providing technical assistance to social work programs regarding candidacy and reaffirmation, and are well versed in the social work accreditation process at CSWE.

The concept of program evaluation can include a wide variety of methods to evaluate many

aspects of programs in non-profit, for-profit, university settings, and government agencies.

Our consultants have training expertise in various areas. Our trainings and seminars include, but are not limited to the following areas: CSWE & CARF Accreditation Standards, curriculum development, grant proposal writing, HIV testing services for providers, clinical training on HIV prevention and treatment, STI management, small business plan writing, program management, social work licensure tips, student support services, and student global learning visits/study abroad development.

Each of our consultants has over 20 years of working in either academic environments, as well as the private and public sectors, and have facilitated trainings and seminars in numerous areas of expertise - globally.

 Successful grant writing involves solid advance planning and preparation. It takes time to coordinate your research, organize, write a package, and submit a proposal to a potential funding agency. We will provide thorough consultation regarding important tips--from reviewing guidelines to proposal submission. We have experienced consultants who have received funding for numerous state and federal grant sources over the past 10 years, and have the expertise to guide clients through the process. 

Editing is a practice that includes creative skills, human relations, and a precise set of methods. We provide substantive editing and copyediting services to agencies and schools that need various documents reviewed. In addition, we provide the same services to individuals who are working on a master's thesis, doctoral dissertation, or publication. We review for clarity, structure within paragraphs, overall structure, style, and citations. An essential part of CARF and CSWE accreditations involve agencies and schools preparing documents. In addition to consulting with them regarding their respective accreditations, we will also provide these agencies with experienced editing services for their documents as needed.
